An hour's drive from our hotel, on the way to the sea, the Gouffre de l'œil Doux is a circular lake set against magnificent cliffs. Easily accessible thanks to its signposted path, there's no need to plan a long hike, but swimming is prohibited. Fortunately, the sea is not far from Saint-Pierre-la-Mer to cool off.
A geological curiosity, the Bénitiers de l'Alaric are original limestone formations that are well worth a look. It's a great opportunity to take a nature hike not far from Carcassonne, and to immerse yourself in the vegetation of the region. A walk close to Carcassonne, as Floure is only 20 minutes away by car.
